R. Balki’s story stars Neena Gupta, Angad Bedi, and Mrunal Thakur. The story focuses on the importance of sexual compatibility between a couple before marriage. The concept sounds bold, especially if the person promoting sex positivity is the grandmother, played by Neena Gupta. The first 10 minutes leave you curious about what the director is trying to convey. But the message is exactly what’s been said from the beginning. It’s a fun watch, but the ending doesn’t pack a punch.It’s good to see a story about lust from a woman’s point of view in The Mirror. Stalking and invasion of privacy are serious crimes. But when it comes to lust and pleasure, does a person know the boundaries? Konkona’s story is hilariously entertaining and a brave attempt to explore female sexuality. You can’t stop facepalming at the characters, but you also enjoy what’s happening. In a way, as viewers, we can’t stop looking at a character looking at other people’s private business. It felt like watching an episode of Netflix’s You, but no one’s a murderer here.
